2008 Fall Programs For Sullivan County YMCA

Classes Offered:


Preschool Dance

This program focuses on gross motor skill development, song and dance moves Ballet technique, Jazz, and more. This class gives children the chance to make friends, have fun and provides a positive learning atmosphere.

Pee Wee Sports
This program focuses on a variety of sports and fitness activities with a strong emphasis on social participation and skills building. Activities include Tee-ball, Floor Hockey, Soccer, Basketball, Pee Wee Flag Football and much more.

Intro to Dance
This program focuses on gross motor skill development, song and dance moves Ballet technique, Jazz, and more. This class gives children the chance to make friends, have fun and provides a positive learning atmosphere.

Floor Hockey
This program gives children the chance to learn the fundamental skills to play the game of hockey. Fundamental skills include passing, shooting, defensive play, offensive play, and team building strategies.

Youth Basketball
This program teaches children the fundamental skills to participate in a successful game of basketball. Children will learn passing, shooting, rebounding, foul shooting, and offensive and defensive play. This league is designed to help increase skill level.

Teen Basketball
This program gives kids the chance to come out express their talent as well as learn new things. Teens will get the chance to show their skills while participating in live games.

Fall Soccer
This program teaches children the fundamental skills to participate in a successful game of Soccer. Children will learn passing, shooting, and offensive and defensive play. This league is designed to help increase skill level.

Pilates (Basic Mat)
Pilates incorporates body and mind. This program will help to strengthen your core, improve flexibility.

Adult/Teen Yoga
Yoga at the YMCA is great. Yoga is beneficial in numerous ways. It helps to relieve stress, improves breathing, helps improve flexibility, reduces tension, as well as improves posture.

Family Yoga
Family Yoga is a great way to get the whole family involved. Parents can come with their children and not only learn various yoga poses but actually spend positive family time.

School Aged, Childrens Yoga
This is a Yoga class that is designed for school aged children. This class is done without adults, children only and they will learn basic yoga poses, breathing and relaxing techniques, play games and more...

Strength and Stretch
This class incorporates Pilates based movement and stretch and strengthening exercises that will tone and firm your body like nothing else. It will also to help improve flexibility.

Ball Room Dancing
This class is excellent for all ages. Various dances include the Foxtrot, Rumba, Salsa, Swing, Cha Cha, the Waltz, and many more. You do not have to have a partner. Partners will be available. This a great class to meet new people.

Cardio Kick Boxing
This great class makes exercise fun. This class teaches both self-defense as well as gives you great Cardio Workout.

Line Dancing
This program teaches you how to line dance. With this program you will learn choreographed dance with a series of steps. This is a great way to make new friends, get exercise and have a fun time.
